Ingredients:
-2 cups of all-purpose flour
-1 tsp salt
-1 tsp sugar
-1 tbsp baking powder
– 8 tbsp cold butter
-1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
– 1-2 seeded and diced jalapeños
-1/4 cup of milk (plus extra if needed)

Directions:

1. Start by setting your oven to 400 degrees and combining your dry ingredients.

2. Cut the butter into small cubes and place them in the same bowl as your dry ingredients.

3. To incorporate, use either two knives to cut your butter into your flour mixture, a pastry blender, or a bench scraper to cut in your butter the same way. Don’t melt the butter. You want to be left with a course mixture that looks like it has small lumps of butter in it.

4. Add in jalapeño and some cheddar cheese right before pouring in the milk.

5. Finally, pour in milk and mix gently with a fork. If needed, add 3-4 tbsp of extra milk to get the doughy consistency. You don’t want it to be too wet like cookie dough, but wet enough that it sticks together.

6. Then, just use two spoons and evenly space out 6 biscuits on your baking tray.

7. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Enjoy!

Pro Tips:

Think: The colder the butter, the flakier the biscuit. You want keep the butter cold and leave it in small chunks so once it melts in the oven, it will result in small pockets of flaky layers. EXACTLY what we want 🤤

If you to change the flavor of biscuits, you can omit the cheddar and jalapeño and add in any type of herb, spice, cheese, or flavorful ingredient you have.
